Home Sweet Home!

At last, the Makovy's have moved and totally diggin living the house style. I have to say its quite creepy at night when its just me and the animals but we'll get used to it soon enough. We finally closed on Monday, June 22nd and moved Wednesday June 24th. It wasn't all roses either. We had some hills we had to conquer and some sharp curves we had to work our way around but all in all it worked out. Wednesday the movers showed up at the apt at 11am. Still had no word at this point that funding had come in. I was a wreck!!! I tried calling the Realtor, no answer, Brad called the title company, no answer from them either. Finally about noon, funding was available and we were good to go. A release of pressure was lifted off of me like no other. About 4pm, one of the movers asked to use our water (at the house), you know when you moved from an apt to a house you have to remember to have the city come out and turn your water on? We didn't. I mean, duh, we knew we would have too but that very important step in our process was just missed somewhere in transition. (Ha)No worries though, the water dept was out there the very next day thankfully! Sergeant had surgery on Tuesday morning for his neutering. That has been another bump in the road we had to face. He is doing just fine with the stitches he hasn't really tried messing with them at all. For those of you that know him, his personality is very outgoing and very A.D.D. at times. Let me just add that the sedatives they work really great to calm him down. Too bad we only give enough to last the rest of the 10 days he has to heal!!! (just kidding) We plan on sending out post card to everyone to update our address. As soon as we settle in and life returns to normal.

With love -

We are so close...

Well, we had our home inspection and appraisal last night and at the end of the inspection the guy told us "congrats, you got a beautiful home". So now we wait to get the actual report which he will email to Brad this afternoon. It was so great being in the house again and seeing it for the 2nd time and actually picturing our stuff plus visualizing the new stuff we want and where we would want it all the go. If all goes well, which no one can see a reason it wouldn't, we should close June 13th and move in shortly thereafter. Leith, Linda, and all who had a hand in this have been so wonderful. If anyone needs a reference for the Arlington, Mansfield, and Grand Prairie area I have some great references for you through them. They have made this process as easy as possible! This is the time to buy if you are in the position to buy.
Stay tuned because we cant wait to have a party now that we got the space to hold everyone!!

PS - By the way, the picture on this blog is an actual picture of the house!

House Hunting!

I wish!
Brad and I started our house hunting this past weekend. We meet with Leith and picked out about 6 different houses that we wanted to see (from a list of over 1,000 homes in our area of interest) and made appointments on the spot. Well, we tried at least. We were only actually able to go inside about 2 houses just because that's our luck. After what felt like an unsuccessful night of house hunting rolling around S. G.P house after house with no lock box or the wrong lock box, I still felt sort of relieved that at least we were out and about seeing what was out there. We came so close to giving up for another year due not knowing what we know now. Looks like gray skies are blue again and cant wait to go back out again this Friday night.

Look -N- Fine in 09!

"You cannot recover the stone after it’s thrown, the word after it’s said, the occasion after it's lost, or the time after its gone"

I chose this quote to start off the 2009 blog because there are so many things that we could regret from 2008. We forget to remember a new year means new beginnings. Forget about things you didn’t accomplish in 08 and begin working on YOU for 2009. I could sit and remorse the fact that I haven’t been there for my friends and family members like I should have this year, or repent the no smoking and how it didn’t last but 6 months. Among many others, these are a few that I would like to throw out the window and let them fly away. I know it’s always easier said than done. Things are easily forgiven but not forgotten.

I also chose to title this one “Look-N-Fine in 09” because that’s my motto for 2009. Despite all I have on my plate, this year I am working on me!! Yes, I know what you’re thinking “but you did enough of that in 08 by distancing yourself due to school, work and of course being a newly wed”. Well folks all I can say to that is - “you’re welcome to join me”.

So forget about the overindulging shopping spree you went on last year or that extra carb you decided to devour and remember that this year is the year for you!
